Humanitarian organisations continue to deliver aid where access allows, despite facing logistical challenges. Global Rahmah Foundation has delivered humanitarian aid including food parcels for several years in Sudan and continues to do so.

The World Health Organization (WHO) warns that people in Sudan face serious health risks, including rising infectious disease outbreaks such as cholera. Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH program) conditions have weakened due to damaged water systems and limited sanitation. In turn, this has increased the spread of disease. Additionally, many people have limited access to hospitals, healthcare and vaccination programmes, placing severe strain on the health care system and increasing preventable illness and deaths.

Millions of Sudanese refugees have sought safety in neighbouring countries like Chad, South Sudan and Egypt. This influx of displaced families has placed a heavy strain on host communities, as well as healthcare systems and food supplies. This makes it even harder to support communities in need, especially as food insecurity and health risks increase across the region.

A lack of hygiene supplies and safe water facilities has increased the risk of disease, including a serious cholera outbreak. Damage to water infrastructure and the lack of proper WASH services have worsened this health emergency. By providing hygiene kits, women's sanitary items and clean water, we can help protect Sudanese families from serious infections and preserve dignity during this difficult time.
