Donate a water pump in Pakistan

Pakistan remains one of the top 10 countries with the lowest access to clean water globally. This leaves millions across the country without adequate clean water. GRF is implementing clean water projects like hand pumps and water wells in Pakistan to those in need, reducing access to dirty, contaminated water.

By donating a Pakistan water pump, you are helping poor communities access fresh water they urgently need. Give now and help us to combat the water crisis in Pakistan.

Donate a water hand pump in India

Water scarcity is a growing concern in India, with millions of people unable to access clean water for drinking. The country is home to 18% of the world's population but only 4% of its water resources. This leaves many at risk of using contaminated water sources.

Your generous water donations can give India's most vulnerable communities access to clean water sources they urgently need. Donating a water pump is a form of Sadaqah Jariyah, which means the donor will be continuously rewarded for as long as people benefit from the water hand pump.

Donate a water pump in someone's name

Did you know you can give a water pump or water well on behalf of someone else? This acts as Sadaqah Jariyah - ongoing charity - for the person, and they will continue to be rewarded for as long as the pump is used. You can donate a water pump on behalf of someone who is alive or someone who is deceased.

Simply input the name you wish to have on the plaque and our team will get that arranged. Help us make a real difference with our Water for Life projects and provide safe drinking water to communities in need, while allowing someone else to earn Sadaqah Jariyah.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs about GRF water facilities.

Why are water hand pumps so important?

Millions of people don't have access to clean water in Pakistan and India. This leaves them walking for miles on end in search of water, and many have no choice but to rely on dirty, contaminated water consumption. This leaves them vulnerable to waterborne diseases which can be deadly, especially if children & families don't have access to medical supplies or can't afford medical bills. As a muslim charity, our water projects, including hand pumps, provide clean drinking water to families, so they no longer have to walk miles on end and are protected from diseases.

How much does it cost to donate a water pump with GRF?

It costs just £200 to donate a water pump, which provides long-term impact to those at risk of consuming unsafe water. Your donations help vulnerable communities access clean water.

Will I get a personalised certificate when I donate a hand pump?

We don't provide personalised certificates, but your hand pump donation will display a personalised plaque sharing the donor's name. During the donation process, simply input the name you would like to be displayed on the plaque and we will get that arranged.

How will I know when my water pump has been installed?

Once the installation is complete, you will receive a feedback report with information about the project, including the pump location and pictures.

Which other water sources do you implement?

As a water pump charity, along with water hand pumps, we provide water wells, including solar-powered water wells, and water tanks.

What's the difference between a water pump and well?

Pumps are smaller and benefit families, whereas deep wells are much bigger and can benefit an entire community. Both types of water donations are a form of Sadaqah Jariyah, acting as ongoing charity for the donor for as long as beneficiaries use the water. Both water sanitation projects make excellent gifts for loved ones. Whichever you decide to donate, know that every single water donation is protecting vulnerable families during their time of need.

Is donating a water pump a form of Sadaqah Jariyah?

Yes, a water pump donation provides ongoing water, helping to reduce water insecurity, improving community health and bringing the donor blessings for as long as water is used from the pump. Water pumps and wells can become a charitable legacy, supporting those in need to access clean water.

How do water pumps and wells affect community health?

They improve community health, reducing the risk of disease from unsafe water and supporting hygiene where sanitation facilities are limited. Our solar water wells strengthen water infrastructure and can also support beneficiaries with religious needs, such as wudhu areas in some communities.

How widespread is the water crisis?

Approximately 1 in 4 (around 2.1 to 2.2 billion people) lack access to safely managed drinking water. Through our Water For All projects, we target high-need areas, guided by our on-ground team, which help improve water quality and reduce global water insecurity.

Do you build hand water pumps in other countries?

At the moment, we only build pumps in Pakistan and India. However, as a muslim charity, we build wells in 15 countries, including Yemen, Afghanistan, Somalia, Palestine, Nigeria, Ghana, Bangladesh, Chad, Sudan, Benin, Guinea, Tanzania, Niger, Mali and Pakistan. Our water fund has helped thousands of beneficiaries, thanks to your donations.
