Qurbani is the ritual in which Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was willing to sacrifice his son after Allah commanded him to. Before carrying out the slaughter, his son was replaced by an animal. Every year, Muslims commemorate this by sacrificing livestock (sheep, cows, goats or camels) during Eid-al-Adha. Qurbani also aligns with Hajj, the pilgrimage to Makkah, as pilgrims must complete Qurbani after Hajj.
