This month, we are delighted to announce a brand new project: Night Light Aid. Almost one million Rohingya refugees live in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. During the nights, it becomes pitch black, with no outside lighting. This makes it unsafe for people to travel. With toilet facilities located 10 – 15 feet away from camps, women risk being exposed to violence, there is a constant risk of falling and people can’t see what lies ahead. Alhamdulillah, we installed solar-powered streetlights and gave families flashlights, helping to improve safety. Read more about our Night Light Aid project.
We distributed aid to families in Afghanistan after the earthquake, providing immediate relief. Our team distributed hot meals, food parcels and water to the community. Thanks to your donations, thousands of people were able to eat nutritious meals. They were able to feel a little relief when their lives had been changed in an instant. You can donate to our Afghanistan earthquake appeal here.
Over the last couple of months, we began implementing wells in Mali, as mentioned last month. We have completed the construction of both wells, allowing families to access clean water. Alhamdulillah, now hundreds of people will be able to access clean water every day.
After the floods, many families had lost everything. We delivered 300 food parcels, reaching 1,800 beneficiaries. Each parcel contained staple food items to ensure families received nutrients. We continue to support families in Pakistan, to remind them that they are not alone.
That’s the end of this month’s highlights. With so many natural disasters occurring and more families needing our help, your generosity allows us to continue supporting them during these challenging times. Thank you for your ongoing support.
