Home Restoration for Refugees

Many refugees are left facing difficulties every day. Rohingya refugees are vulnerable to floods, fires and natural disasters, causing damage and sometimes completely destroying homes. Many Syrian & Palestinian refugees live in challenging conditions in camps, especially during winter. We help:

Repair Homes & Restore Dignity

Alongside refugees, we also repair homes for those affected by poverty, conflict and natural disasters. Many cannot afford to fix the condition of homes, relying on external aid. We repair homes in:

- Pakistan
- Yemen
- Afghanistan
- Gaza, Palestine (when able to)
- Where Needed

FAQs

Home restoration frequently asked questions

What is the Home Restoration project about?

Global Rahmah Foundation's Home Restoration project is a charity initiative aimed at repairing and rebuilding homes that have been damages or destroyed. We help those affected by poverty, war and natural disasters by repairing homes, thanks to your generous donations.

Why is this project necessary?

Families experiencing poverty, war and natural disasters are met with challenges every day. Damage to their homes adds another layer of concerns, especially for those unable to afford home repairs. Repairing homes helps families regain a sense of normalcy and provides an ounce of safety in their own homes.

Where does GRF restore homes?

We currently restore homes for Syrian & Palestinian refugees in Jordan & Lebanon, Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, people in Pakistan, Yemen and Afghanistan. We have previously restored homes for families in Gaza and will continue to do so once we are able to, In Shaa Allah.

How are families selected for assistance?

We prioritise vulnerable families, considering factors like the extent of damage, displacement situation and number of dependants among other factors.

Who repairs homes?

We work with local contractors and skilled workers, promoting community involvement and increasing employment opportunities.
