On Wednesday 15th January 2025, our team headed to Lebanon for our first deployment of the year.
Alhamdulillah thanks to your support, we were able to help Syrian and Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, along with internally displaced people within Lebanon. We also launched a brand new project for refugee children. Here's a breakdown of what happened on our trip:
The team distributed food parcels to refugees in Lebanon, along with IDP’s (internally displaced people). Each food parcel can feed a family of 6 for 2 – 3 weeks. Parcels contain essential food items like flour, sugar and tinned goods.
We held a fun day for orphans, where they laughed, played and ate food. These orphans and needy children have witnessed difficulties in their lives, with many unable to experience the joys of childhood that millions of other children around the world do. GRF works with orphans and needy children, helping them find sponsors to give the financial support they need to live bright, beautiful futures.
We handed out winter aid to beneficiaries. This included mattresses, blankets, pillows, fuel and mother and baby kits containing essential items. These products will help provide comfort during the harsh weather and also once it passes.
Refugee children are vulnerable to PTSD and anxiety disorders, with many unable to process the trauma endured. We are excited to launch a brand new project, helping refugee children with their development, using Play and Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET). We have been working in Lebanon for over a decade, distributing aid and delivering hope during testing times. This work is only possible by the will of Allah and through your kindness and generosity. Thank you for your ongoing support. If you want to get involved with our work, whether joining us on our next Link deployment or fundraising for a great cause, get in touch with us today.
