See GRF's work completed in January 2025.
We are delighted to launch our NET & Play Therapy initiative for Syrian and Palestinian refugee children in Lebanon. Refugee children often suffer from PTSD and anxiety disorders, hindering their development and affecting their later stages. Our team recognised the opportunity to help children experiencing war and conflict, by allowing them to process the trauma endured and lead joyous lives. You can read more about our mental health project for refugee children in Lebanon here.
21 enthusiastic individuals crossed the Marrakech Half-Marathon finish line, raising vital funds for beneficiaries in Gaza. Eager to help those in need, our runners managed to raise thousands of pounds to support our Gaza appeal. Sarah, marathon runner, shares, "Unbelievable experience! The GRF team made everything so easy, the marathon atmosphere was incredible and I would definitely do it again!" You can read more in our latest blog post about the Marrakech Marathon 2025.
Our team distributed aid to Syrian and Palestinian refugees in Lebanon and internally displaced people who have been unable to return home. The team also held a fun day for orphans and needy children, where children played together and had food. The team were humbled by the experience, also speaking with beneficiaries and families about their current situations. We distributed winter aid, including blankets, mattresses, pillows and mother and baby kits. See how our January 2025 Lebanon deployment went here.
We carried out various projects in Gaza this month, including distributing vegetables, water and hot meals. We also distributed bread, with this initiative set to support the economy while helping beneficiaries. Our team hires individuals in Gaza to bake the bread, thus supporting them while providing food.
We built 2 shelters for families who lost their homes and belongings due to the flooding. Shelters will provide families with a safe space to rest. To contribute to further projects in Pakistan, you can donate to Pakistan here.
On 24th December 2024, a fire broke out in Kutupalong, Cox’s Bazaar, which is the world's largest refugee camp. GRF distributed aid to Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, supporting them after the wake of the fire. They distributed vital aid such as food parcels and blankets to Rohingya refugees. The fire has caused great damage to many and you can further support Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh here.
Alhamdulillah January was a busy month and we hope to continue making a difference for people around the world. This work would not be possible without your continued support and generosity. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your ongoing compassion and willingness to support those in need.
