Sudan Emergency

25 Million People in Sudan Require Humanitarian Assistance

As a result of the war beginning April 2023, over 25 million people in Sudan now require humanitarian assistance. Of these people, 5.4 million have been internally displaced and forced to leave their homes, with 120,000 having fled to the Kassala region in the east of Sudan. Millions of people in Sudan lack access to food, health services and WASH facilities, and drought and climate change heighten the risks of infrastructural damage. GRF is on the ground in Kassala State, Sudan, providing essential aid to internally displaced people.

Donate to Sudan Today

Your donation can provide urgent help to people suffering in Sudan. While many have lost their homes and are struggling to access food and water, your generosity has the potential to save lives. Every penny counts in making a difference towards those in need.

Provide Nutritious Meals in Sudan

18 million people are affected by food insecurity, lacking basic access to nutritional meals. Among them, 729,000 children are suffering from severe acute malnutrition. For just £5, you can provide a hot meal to someone in need. For £50, you can supply a complete food parcel that can sustain a family of 6 for up to 3 weeks. Parcels contain long-lasting food items like flour, rice and sugar, which have been carefully selected to deliver essential nutrients.

Give the Gift of Water

Millions of people lack access to safe drinking water, with 9,700 suspected cholera cases and 269 associated deaths. There is a need for 288,710 litres of water daily. Your donation of £1,000 can help distribute clean water to those staying in a shelter centre, thus helping protect them from waterborne diseases.

Help Preserve Health & Hygiene

Unsanitary conditions can spread diseases, worsening the conditions of those already suffering. Just £20 can provide medical aid for those in need, including painkillers, antibiotics and vital solutions such as glucose and Ringer’s solutions. £20 can provide vital sanitary items for women in Sudan – items that are not easily accessible. Furthermore, many people will no longer have access to their own clothes after fleeing, therefore require clean clothes. £20 can provide clothing for men, and £30 for women.
