Ease Hunger In Afghanistan For As Little As £50 | GRF
The Situation in Afghanistan
Afghanistan’s population of 38 million are facing catastrophic development collapse, in addition to the ongoing humanitarian and economic crisis. People’s homes, hospitals, schools, and critical infrastructure such as water and electricity systems have been destroyed, exacerbating the needs of an already vulnerable population.
The head of the World Food Programme describes this situation as “the worst humanitarian crisis on earth”.
Help us provide food parcels for them.
Afghanistan now has the second highest number of people facing critical food shortages in the world. During the last year, over 90% of Afghans have been suffering from some form of food insecurity. Over 1 million children, under the age of 5, suffer from prolonged acute malnutrition – even if they survive, they will face significant health problems including stunting.
QUICK DONATE
Afghanistan Water
Around 8 out 10 Afghan people drink unsafe water. Personnel, essential for the maintenance of water and sanitation services, have not received salaries for several months, resulting in 93% of children across Afghanistan (around 15.6m children) left to live in areas of extremely high-water vulnerability. Help us in aiding communities across Afghanistan, by providing a clean source of water, fit for consumption and hygiene.
Family Food Parcel
Our team on the ground delivers and provides essential food parcels, containing long-life food that will feed an entire family for up to a month. The items in these parcels have been carefully chosen to ensure families are secured with all essential nutrition. The contents include; flour, rice, tea, sugar, oil, dates and canned beans and lentils.
Hygiene Kit
Hygiene is essential in preventing and protecting human health during infectious disease outbreaks and epidemics. Following the devastating earthquake, Afghanistan is in desperate need of hygiene kits to prevent the risk of any life-threatening diseases during these difficult times. Due to the current financial crisis in Afghanistan, people cannot afford to feed themselves, or prioritise their hygiene. GRF distributes these hygiene packages in aims to prevent any consequential health complications.
Emergency Shelter
A powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 struck in Western Afghanistan, Herat. OCHA shares that the levels of devastation have been extremely substantial, with over 10,000 houses destroyed, over 20,000 houses with severe damage, and nearly 18,000 houses with moderate damage. As a result, approximately 37,139 families are now forced to live in temporary makeshift shelters, built using scrap metal which does not hold up against the extreme weather conditions in Afghanistan during the winter season. There are 1,268 families residing in informal settlements, and another 8,801 families who have resorted to tent shelters as temporary solutions.
"The situation unfolding in Afghanistan is the worst humanitarian crisis on earth."
