Dua for Ramadan
Important Dua for Ramadan

Ramadan is among the holiest months in the Islamic Calendar, meaning it’s important for Muslims to increase their worship during this time. This involves reciting Ramadan Dua to connect with Allah (SWT) and prepare themselves for the days of fasting.
Dua for Opening the Fast in Ramadan
Before Suhoor, Muslims should recite the following to make their intention to fast for the upcoming day:
Wa bisawmi ghadinn nawaiytu min shahri Ramadan.
I intend to keep the fast for tomorrow in the month of Ramadan.
Dua for Fasting in Ramadan
While fasting during Ramadan, you may look to guidance from Allah (SWT) via the following dua:
O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, by Your mercy I seek help. Rectify for me all of my affairs and do not leave me to my soul even for the blink of an eye.
Dua for Breaking the Fast in Ramadan
When Iftar rolls around, you should recite the following Dua:
Allahumma inni laka sumtu wa bika aamantu wa ‘alayka tawakkaltu wa ‘ala rizq-ika-aftartu.
O Allah! I fasted for You, and I believe in You, and I put my trust in You, and with Your sustenance, I break my fast.
Ramadan Special Dua
Since Ramadan is such a blessed month, it’s a time to say special Dua, such as the following:
O Allah, make my fasts in it the fasts of those who fast (with sincerity), and my standing in it (in prayer) of those who stand in prayer (with devotion), and awaken me in it from the sleep of the heedless, and forgive me my sin in it, O God of the worlds. And pardon me, O One who pardons the sinners.
Ramadan Ashra Dua
The Islamic months are split into thirds, known as Ashra. The following Dua should be spoken during each Ashra.
Ramadan First Ashra Dua
Rab-bigh-fir war-ham wa anta khayrur rahimeen.
O my Lord! Forgive and have mercy, and You are the best of those who show mercy.
Ramadan Second Ashra Dua
Astaghfirullaha rab-bi min kulli dhambin wa atubu ilayh.
I seek forgiveness from Allah, my Lord, from every sin I committed and I turn to Him in repentance.
Dua for the Last 10 Days of Ramadan
Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni.
O Allah, You are the Most Forgiving, You love to forgive, so forgive me.
