Current situation
Sister Jumana is a Palestinian refugee, living in Burj Barajneh refugee camp in Lebanon. She has lived there all her life. Jumana has throat cancer and requires surgery.
The challenge
Her husband is blind and for a living, they rent apartments. They earn only 17 cents a day, which is what they use to eat, drink and survive. Due to her illness, she becomes cold at night and has to use a heater. The heater uses kerosene which is very expensive. If she is sick and unable to work, she is unable to give her children money for school.
How did we support?
GRF provided financial aid to support Jumana and her family. By providing cash, Jumana could choose how to use the funds efficiently.
What Jumana said
“May God give you health and may God be pleased with you. I will pray for you from the bottom of my heart.”
